SketchBook Pro from Autodesk is one app that makes the iPad an incredibly relevant mobile device for any professional (or ahem, amateur..) designer or artist.
In fact, it’s one of the chief reasons that Apple’s iPad appealed to me in the first place.
Here’s what Autodesk has to say about their SketchBook Pro app:
Autodesk® SketchBook® Pro for iPad™ is a professional-grade paint drawing application. It combines high-quality digital pencils, pens, markers, and airbrushes with a Multi-Touch gesture-based user interface, enabling you to create everything from quick sketches to high-quality artwork on the iPad.
Here’s a cool demo video from Autodesk. Check it out!
SketchBook Pro was designed to work in concert with the iPad and iPhone touchscreen, allowing you to use only your finger to execute amazingly sensitive brushstrokes, penstrokes, draw annotation, and other drawing/painting actions (See video below), but we’ve found that the product works especially well with a little device called a Pogo™ Sketch.
The Pogo™ Sketch is nothing more than a small, pen-shaped stylus, with a soft tip which glides smoothly and accurately across the iPad and iPhone touch screen. Together, SketchBook Pro and the the Pogo™ Sketch make up a fun and useful tool for creative artists on the go!
