In my computer class, my teacher recently introduced us to Symbaloo.com. In summary, Symbaloo is a website that holds and provides access any and all bookmarks you want to add to your page.Your Symbaloo page allows you to create webmixes, which are the places where you store groups of links or bookmarks. There are 60 tiles per webmix.To get bookmarks you click on the tiles, and then you search for which ever website you want.

Symbaloo has every popular website, but if they don’t have the website you’re looking for, you can create your own bookmark tile easily. You can make as many webmixes as you want, and you can name them, add a background, and edit them however you want. These webmixes can even be shared with friends.

I have a webmix for every class I’m currently enrolled in, my personal things, music, and my school links.

Symbaloo is one of the simplest websites to use; they have easy step-by-step directions for everything. I find the service particularly helpful because I can access my own bookmarks on any computer. Each tile, or bookmark, has the name of the website and a picture of the logo of the website. For example, my tile for Guitar Center is the main logo of the store with the name on it.

A great feature about symbaloo is that you can search for other people’s webmixes. Say you want to build a webmix on U.S. History, but you don’t want to take the time to find all the bookmarks. Well, you can just go to “Search a Webmix” and you type in U.S. History. Then all of the webmixes other people have made, with U.S. History involved, will come up. Along side of the webmixes that come up has the ratings and the amount of people who use that webmix.

Overall, Symbaloo is a very useful site that is easy to use as it becomes more popular around the country. For more information on how the service works, watch the following video:
