Today was fun.
Jay Freeman joined us at Make It Work Headquarters today and the team talked tech all afternoon.
Jay, known in the tech world as Saurik, is responsible for the iPhone app called Cydia that allows an iPhone user to download apps and customization utilities on a jailbroken phone.
These are apps and customizations, of course, that are unavailable unless you jailbreak your iPhone.
Jay is a really friendly guy and is frighteningly smart. You’d have to be to put together such an great app (more like a service, really) for those that want full control over their iPhones.
He talked to Eric and the clever team about TEDx American Riviera, which will be taking place on 10/10/10.
This Saturday tune in at 1-2pm to hear a clip of our extended interview with Saurik for Make It Work Radio, on KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO in Los Angeles, and 3-4pm on KSFO 560 in San Francisco, to hear the ENTIRE extended interview! In this extended interview Jay will be talking about the history of jailbreaking, his foray into the Dev Team and becoming an ubiquitous name in the iPhone community. It’s easy to say he’s the “Godfather of Jailbreaking.”
Jay brought with him his jailbroken iPhone 4 as well! This jailbreak isn’t even publicly available yet but he showed us that it does indeed exist. Maybe it will be released within a month or so…
Enjoy the video!
