The Apple Remote was first released in 2005 for the iMac G5 (Remember when those were all the rage?) and has since been used with the MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMacs and Apple TV. With controls for basic functions like volume, play/pause, etc. But the main functionality was to be used with Front Row. Its infrared abilities can be very useful and convenient, and this guy certainly took advantage of it at this Mac expo:
