With all of the functionality and improvements shown in the iPad 2, what can we hope for in Apple’s next generation iPad 3?
Rumored to launch in March, many rumors surround the technology and changes that are possible in the iPad 3.
Here’s a summary of some of the more popular rumors surrounding Apple’s new device:
Front-facing High-Definition camera: Since the iPad 2′s cameras were less than ideal, we’re hoping for significant improvement with the 3rd generation device. The camera should at least be comparable to the iPhone 4s.
Dual Wi-Fi/3G (4G) model: Since the tech world is quickly moving in the 4G direction, we’re assuming the next iPad will be compatible as well. It would also be nice to see a model compatible with a phone plan or Wi-Fi.
FaceTime app improvements: This app will improve significantly if they improve the camera (as mentioned above). Apple could still use a few tweaks to give FaceTime a better edge over the popular competitor: Skype.
Improved battery life: We’ve heard numerous rumors of a larger battery lasting almost twice as long as a potential upgrade.
High-resolution retina display (more than 300 pixels er inch): While a display with this much resolution is not really necessary, we’ve heard several rumors claiming that a retina display may be in the cards for the company.
Faster processor: The iPad 3 could also have an A6 processor, enabling faster games and content streaming
Siri: Perhaps the most obvious rumor, we’d love to see Siri on the new tablets.
This also means Apple will most-likely slash the price of the iPad 2 after the launch. We’re assuming the new price will be approximately $399, $100 less than before. All of these proposed updates are only rumors, so don’t take our word for them yet.
