There are a few reasons you may need to reset your iPod.
One of the most common reasons is if your iTouch displays the iTunes icon at the top of the screen and a USB cable at the bottom, with an arrow in between. This indicates that the iTouch or iPhone needs to be connected to your iTunes to get it working. However, if ” Your device has a pass-code that is locked from the inside that must be disabled before you continue,” you might have a problem, since the device is already frozen as it is.
Here is a way around this issue to get your iPod Touch or iPhone to working order! [But hopefully your iTunes media is backed up safely, because if not, your non-backed up data will be erased. Don't fret, if it's not backed up, saving your media will be covered in another blog called Using Sharepod.]
1. First hold down the lock button on the top of your iTouch or iPhone (The little button is usually located on the top left of the device, which is usually a black long button that locks the device).
2. At the same time, hold down the Home Button which is the circle on the front of the device at the bottom.
3.Hold them both down for about 30 seconds at which time you should see the screen turn silver or gray and will display the Apple logo.
