Child internet safety is always important, so here is a tool from Google that helps make the internet a safer place!
Google’s tool to help parents keep their kids safe online, SafeSearch, enables users to lock the strict filtering settings in place. When you activate the lock feature, SafeSearch cannot be turned off without entering a password.
Google integrated a visual reference for parents (and teachers) to easily identify if the Google SafeSearch is in fact turned on. If you see large balls in Google colors, (red, yellow, blue and green), then you can rest assured the searching on that computer is safe.
To lock Google SafeSearch on your computer, navigate to your Search Settings in Google. Note that the settings must be activated in each Google account that is used on your computer.
Check out Google’s video with visual instructions on how to utilize the SafeSearch lock.
