In our fast-paced world, productivity is everything. Whether you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or a child in school, we are expected to be as productive as humanly possible, and if it isn’t a superior giving you the order, then it’s probably yourself.
Google has been innovating for the sake of productivity for years now, going beyond the search engine, experimenting in mobile devices to spearheading net neutrality. Yet, they are still best known for their genius in the search engine realm, and they have reassured us of that today.
Google launched its newest search engine feature today, Google Instant, this will make searching even quicker than it already is and open up a whole new way of finding the answers to our questions.
Here is what’s new with Google Instant, straight from Google themselves!
Faster Searches: By predicting your search and showing results before you finish typing, Google Instant can save 2-5 seconds per search.
Smarter Predictions: Even when you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, predictions help guide your search. The top prediction is shown in gray text directly in the search box, so you can stop typing as soon as you see what you need.
Instant Results: Start typing and results appear right before your eyes. Until now, you had to type a full search term, hit return, and hope for the right results. Now results appear instantly as you type, helping you see where you’re headed, every step of the way.
Google Instant is fantastic. Though, it threw me off for a bit, after a couple of hours, I truly noticed an improvement over Google’s previously proven model. We hope you enjoy this new Google feature, I know all of us at Make It Work do!
Happy Googling!
***NOTE***
If you are an iGoogle user and are distraught your iGoogle isn’t working with Google Instant, know that it is currently unavailable and more than likely will be working in the near future, stay tuned!
But, if it’s all just too much change for one day and you’re a fan of the old saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” Make It Work has the guide to turning Google Instant off, stay tuned for that post later this evening!
