Textbooks are one of the most over-priced commodities around. New technology, like the Kindle and the iPad, are taking huge strides in making textbooks more affordable.  Yet despite how cool it might be to have a Kindle or an iPad loaded with all your textbooks, it still hasn’t changed the fact that most people still want real, hard-bound, page-filled textbooks. Instead of paying the super-uber-nasty-premiums at the bookstore, you can buy them online where they are significantly cheaper!

There are tons of websites that provide buying, selling, renting, and trading textbooks, just with one Google search. However, these five sites below have the widest selection and typically because of their size, can offer the best pricing!

1.  Amazon.com
Amazon is still one of the best places to sell you textbooks. Whether you are buying or selling textbooks under your own username in their online marketplace, or buying and selling them directly to Amazon, you are bound to find a great deal!

2.  Bigwords.com
Bigwords.com is my favorite place to go for buying or selling textbooks. With a great interface, they compare the best prices of the top sites and take you directly to the site with the best price! They don’t actually sell the textbooks, but they are a great place to start looking. However, if you have an aversion to the color orange I suggest you stay away from this one.

3.  Bookbyte.com
Bookbyte.com has a very straight forward site that offers really great pricing. With free shipping, you have to give them a visit to make sure you are getting the best price.

4.  Half.com
Operated by eBay, it’s another mandatory stop to ensure you are getting the best prices. Whether you are buying from an eBay Store or from another person directly, you can find some awesome pricing, if you look hard enough!

5.  Valorebooks.com
Valorebooks.com rounds off the list because of their easy to navigate site and really great competitive pricing!
