If the new year has left you sleepless in 2012, there are a few things you can do to improve your sleep patterns.
Of course the best thing you can do for yourself is stay healthy. This mean exercising frequently and eating balanced meals. Improving your physical fitness will inevitably help you sleep.
If that doesn’t quite work, it seems as though smartphones can pretty much do anything, but can we use them to help with insomnia? I sometimes have trouble sleeping, and I just found a bunch of awesome apps for helping me sleep; I think they will be worth investigating and trying o
This app is a guided meditation with instructor Andrew Johnson. He leads you through relaxation and breathing techniques that really do work. It brings you into a very relaxed state, and if I continue to have sleeping problems I will definitely use this app.
aSleep3 gives you an array of soothing nature-sounds, chromo therapy, weather, snore detector, and an alarm clock. This app is great if you need to hear something relaxing and want to fall asleep to, and it is very cheap.

This is my personal favorite, and this app is highly rated by many. Pzizz let’s you adjust a setting on your iPhone, music volume, length, alarm, and the voice. Once you have found your perfect soothing sound, then you can get started. Just press play and relax and pzizz will put you in a relaxing state of mind. Using the duration of length you select, it will slowly wake you up with a little more up-beat music. This app is the best!
This is a very simple app in which all it does is helps you practice the exercise of deep, calm breathing. You can adjust the length of the breaths it asks you to take. The bar will show you how you’re doing on it, and after a few it really does relax you.
eSleep is an app that lets you choose from a wide variety of sounds and tones for relaxing. You can play up to three sounds at once, and you can customize many other features.
